Role description
Hiring: GIS Developer (Boston, MA | 6-Month Contract | Tentative)
We’re looking for a GIS Developer to join our team in Boston, MA, for a 6-month contract (tentative). The selected candidate will be part of a team delivering enterprise-level geospatial solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop geospatial web and scripting applications within the ESRI stack.
• Build custom widgets, geoprocessing services, ETL processes, and integrations.
• Manage enterprise geodatabases, database servers, web servers, and cloud infrastructure.
• Plan, test, implement, and support GIS solutions while maintaining documentation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements, manage backlog requests, and support project planning.
• Contribute to agile project management practices and cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong programming experience with Python, JavaScript, and other web languages.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, etc.) in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with transportation planning principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate.
Technical Skills:
• ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise/Server (10.9.1+) & ArcGIS Pro (2.9+)
• ESRI tools: LRS, Workflow Manager, Image Server, Reality, Velocity, Monitor, GeoEvent
• Application & database development
• Data visualization: Tableau, Power BI, Voyager, dashboards, web maps
• Automation & scripting: FME, VertiGIS Studio, Python, SQL
• Exposure to AI/ML models integration
• Web frameworks: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, .NET
• Project management experience
