Role description
We are seeking an experienced Development Analyst to support field development planning activities within a multidisciplinary upstream oil and gas team. This position works closely with engineering, geoscience, and development leadership to optimize development strategies, evaluate drilling opportunities, and support long term asset planning. Key Responsibilities • Conduct technical and business analysis to support development planning, well performance evaluation, budgeting, and inventory management. • Analyze and integrate data from multiple sources to support decision making and development strategy recommendations. • Collaborate with engineers, geologists, and development managers to evaluate drilling opportunities and field development plans. • Support inventory planning and maintain alignment across development, scheduling, permitting, reserves, facilities, and budgeting processes. • Perform scenario analysis, economic evaluations, and development optimization studies. • Create reports, presentations, and visualizations for technical teams and senior management. • Maintain data integrity and governance standards across development planning systems and databases. • Manage project change requests and support execution of approved development plans. • Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as required. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related technical discipline. • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical analytical role. • Experience working with large datasets and performing complex technical analysis. • Strong problem solving and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple disciplines. • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. Preferred Qualifications • Experience within the oil and gas industry. • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access. • Experience with SQL and database management. • Experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools. • Knowledge of GIS applications and spatial data management. • Experience with Spotfire, Oracle databases, or Alteryx.
