Primary Services is excited to announce the role of GIS Analyst for a client, a leading organization in the utility industry. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced GIS Analyst who can support enterprise GIS accuracy, consistency, and standards while contributing to utility mapping initiatives. The selected candidate will leverage experience with utility GIS, asset mapping, and distribution mapping to help maintain reliable geospatial data and support operational objectives for a large company. Responsibilities: • Maintain GIS data accuracy and consistency in alignment with enterprise policies, procedures, and standards. • Support utility GIS initiatives focused on electric GIS and gas GIS applications. • Perform asset mapping and distribution mapping activities to improve infrastructure data quality. • Review, update, and validate geospatial datasets to ensure completeness and accuracy. • Analyze GIS information to support business operations, planning, and asset management activities. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain GIS workflows and data standards. • Assist with the development and implementation of GIS processes and documentation. • Identify data discrepancies and recommend improvements to enhance GIS reliability. • Utilize GIS tools and systems to manage, analyze, and visualize utility-related information. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. • Experience working with utility GIS, electric GIS, or gas GIS environments. • Experience with asset mapping, distribution mapping, and geospatial data management. • Proficiency with GIS software platforms and spatial analysis tools. • Knowledge of GIS data standards, quality control processes, and database management. • Experience maintaining and editing spatial datasets. • Familiarity with utility infrastructure mapping and asset management practices. • Experience with GIS data validation, troubleshooting, and documentation. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. • Experience with enterprise GIS systems and workflows preferred.
