Job Title: GIS Analyst Client:
State of South Carolina Department
Location: Remote - Candidate MUST be a resident of South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, or Tennessee in anticipation of potential onsite occurrences.
Duration: 12 Months
Job ID: 8475Job Description
Under limited supervision, the GIS Contractor will perform the independent analysis, design,
implementation, modification and upgrade of agency applications for geographic information
systems and spatial data for the agency. Emphasis will be placed on SCDES GIS Infrastructure
maintenance, security updates, and software updates.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Implement, maintain, and provide technical support as the ArcGIS server administrator
Assistant.
1. Coordinate and develop scripting and database management with the SCDES Database
Administrator Assistant.
1. Design, implement and/or modify web, mobile and client/server-based GIS applications
for program areas. Provide technical backup to other modules as assigned. Adheres to
Information Technology application development standards and security requirements.
Provide appropriate administrative documentation/project communication.
1. Allow flexibility to support smaller agency GIS projects or consultation. Participate in
agency meetings that support understanding the scope of GIS applications within
agency goals and strategies
Preferred qualifications
Experience in land surveying or construction-related projects.
Familiarity with data visualization tools to present findings effectively.
Leadership experience in guiding teams through GIS-related tasks or projects.
Knowledge of SharePoint for collaborative project management.
