Role description
GeoTel Communications, LLC is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our team as a GIS Analyst. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects that are focused on telecommunications infrastructure data.
Role and Responsibilities
Manipulating and updating geospatial databases
Perform data audits and ensure quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing data
Digitize telecommunications data
Import/export data
Parse and review downloaded geospatial information; research source documents; organize reports and files in support of analysis and quality control; maintain metadata and metrics
Ability to research effectively for data collection
Create maps using ESRI GIS software and assist with the designs, development, and editing of geospatial and tabular databases
Perform GIS qualitative/quantitative analysis and mapping
Maintain a high level of organization and reliability to meet weekly deadlines and requirements.
Document GIS procedures and systems documentation
Prioritize work to conform to requests and timelines
Knowledge of KML/KMZ/shape.SHP/.TAB files
Qualifications
Associate's Degree with a minimum of 5 yearsβ experience in GIS or
A Bachelorβs Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in GIS
In-depth knowledge of mapping principles, spatial analysis, remote sensing, digitizing and cartography
Knowledge of Projections, Datum, and ability to layer data onto aerial imagery
Solid understanding of ESRI's ArcGIS software products
Experience and working knowledge of ArcGIS software products
Experience with ArcGIS Online platform and other web geospatial programming languages
Experience with developing Geodatabases and schemas (domains, subtypes), Access/SQL, and other databases
Understanding of the MapInfo TAB format
Knowledge of spatial data analysis as it applies to GIS software
Valid US ID - GeoTel utilizes eVerify for employment
Additional Skills
Previous Telecom Experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Proven ability to work in a team environment, dealing with people from various disciplines
Able to prioritize requests in a production environment
Able to work independently or as part of a team
