Job Title: GIS Specialist – Energy & Infrastructure Siting
Role Overview:
We’re looking for a GIS Specialist to help design and implement the geospatial data backbone of our new AI agent. You will source, process, and integrate geospatial datasets (satellite, drone, and public registries) to support develop the agent.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, clean, and manage geospatial datasets (land use, infrastructure, exclusion zones, environmental constraints).
Develop geospatial layers and pipelines for renewable energy and critical mineral geolocation analysis.
Work with the AI/ML team to prepare training datasets for reinforcement learning and computer vision models.
Build map-based interfaces for site discovery, evaluation, and reporting.
Support integration of GIS layers into automated mapping and assessment workflows.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in GIS, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, or related field.
Proficiency in QGIS/ArcGIS, Python (GeoPandas, GDAL), and spatial databases (PostGIS).
Experience with remote sensing data (Sentinel, Planet, Landsat, drone imagery).
Familiarity with renewable energy siting factors (solar, wind, transmission, land use).
Strong data cleaning and visualization skills.
Bonus:
Experience with geospatial APIs (Google Earth Engine, Planet Labs).
Knowledge of energy or mining project development workflows.
Exposure to ML/AI workflows for spatial analysis.
