Role description
Governance and Data Lead 14 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) Manchester (2 days per week in office) Salary: £50,000 - £56,700 Working Arrangements: Hybrid - 2x days a week in the office Introduction You'll step into a role where your work has a direct impact on how AQA delivers fair and trusted assessments across the country. As part of a collaborative and forward‑thinking technology environment, you'll help shape how systems, data and governance come together to support learners and teachers. You'll be joining a team that values curiosity, improvement and clear, meaningful outcomes giving you the space to influence how system governance and data practices evolve across our enterprise landscape. Purpose of the role You'll lead and develop governance and data practices for AQA's enterprise applications, ensuring that systems, processes and data standards enable high quality, compliant and customer-focused outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of technology, data and operational delivery, giving you the opportunity to shape how information is managed and how we optimize our system governance to support delivery of strategic objectives. You'll champion data quality, strengthen governance frameworks and work with teams across AQA to make sure enterprise platforms deliver value, resilience and long‑term impact. Key responsibilities In this role, you'll be responsible for: • Leading governance frameworks across enterprise systems - notably Dynamics 365/ Power Platform/ copilot. • Driving compliance, data stewardship and quality standards. • Supporting technology and data alignment across major programmes. • Working closely with system developers • Applying best practice to data structures and system security What we are looking for You'll thrive in this role if you: • Can apply a solid understanding of data management and risk management principles. • Bring experience in working with SaaS enterprise system landscapes and data flows, including a CRM system (preferably Dynamics 365). • Have a good understanding of legislative/regulatory requirements and standards, including UK GDPR, ISO9001/ISO27001 • Have strong stakeholder and communication skills. • Can simplify complexity, drive best practice and continually improve governance policies and procedures for our systems • Are motivated by system improvements, technology and influencing outcomes.
