Job Overview:
Were seeking a highly skilled SAP HANA Data Modeling Developer to join our team in Holland, MI in a long-term contract-to-hire capacity. This is an onsite position with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule after 6 months. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical lead for business intelligence (BI) initiatives, offering both deep technical expertise and the leadership presence to act as the face of the department in cross-functional meetings.
This role requires a strong background in HANA data modeling, dashboard/reporting solutions, and experience guiding BI strategy and development. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be interfacing with technical teams, managers, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of SAP HANA data models using SAP XSC/XSA
Serve as the department's technical liaison in meetings with management and business partners
Convert business requirements into technical specifications and BI deliverables
Configure and manage SAP SLT for data replication from source systems to HANA
Drive development of logical/physical data models and support ETL development
Perform data analysis and provide insights through dashboards and reports
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all systems
Lead efforts in performance tuning, system enhancements, and data governance
Collaborate with users and IT to identify opportunities for improved BI solutions
Develop and maintain documentation, KPIs, and reporting artifacts
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in BI development with SAP HANA
Strong background in data modeling (OLTP, OLAP, Star/Snowflake schema)
Experience with SAP HANA Studio, SAP SLT, SAP XSC/XSA, and SAP Data Services
Proven ability to lead projects and influence business stakeholders
Previous experience with SQL, SSIS, SSAS, and data visualization/reporting tools
Preferred Tools/Skills:
Power BI, Business Objects, SAP BODS
Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills
Creative thinker with strong self-motivation and learning agility
