Hardware Support Engineer

About the job: Akkodis is seeking a Technical Support Engineer for a 4-month contract role supporting data center hardware quality and product performance initiatives. This position focuses on triaging technical issues, performing first-level root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement across hardware deployments in a fast-paced engineering environment. To be considered, candidates should have strong experience supporting electronic or computing hardware systems, troubleshooting production or deployment issues, analyzing technical data, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams. Pay Range: $60/hr. – $70/hr. on W2 (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.) Technical Support Engineer responsibilities include: • Manage and triage a queue of hardware quality and deployment issues within a data center environment • Perform first-level investigation, gather required information, and conduct initial technical analysis • Complete basic root cause analysis (RCA) and propose recommendations or resolutions • Review fleet and production data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities • Create and track bugs or issues with partner engineering teams for resolution • Analyze manufacturing and field data to support continuous improvement initiatives • Monitor and present product performance metrics to stakeholders • Review, edit, and create technical documentation such as deployment guides and repair procedures • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve hardware quality and system reliability • Support additional technical tasks as assigned Required Skills & Experience: • 5+ years of experience in hardware quality, technical support engineering, test engineering, or electronic hardware systems troubleshooting • Experience working with server, storage, networking, or computing hardware environments • Hands-on experience with data analysis using SQL, Python, JMP, or similar tools • Experience performing issue triage, troubleshooting, or root cause investigations • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments • Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills & Experience: • Experience working in a data center or hardware lab environment • Background in troubleshooting or repair of server and networking products • Familiarity with technical documentation and process improvement practices • Knowledge of spreadsheets and databases If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
