Role description
HEDIS Data Analyst Location: Piscataway, NJ - Hybrid with 1 day week onsite per week Duration: 6-Month Contract with Potential Extension Pay Rate: Up to $35/hour W2 Only We're seeking an experienced HEDIS Data Analyst to support a leading healthcare organization during the annual HEDIS reporting cycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong healthcare analytics experience who enjoys working with complex data, improving quality outcomes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role is primarily remote with minimal onsite requirements each month. What You'll Do • Develop, validate, and analyze HEDIS measures in accordance with NCQA specifications • Work with healthcare datasets including claims, eligibility, provider, EMR, pharmacy, and laboratory data • Build and optimize advanced SQL queries, data transformations, and ETL processes • Support HEDIS reporting, annual submissions, audits, and executive dashboards • Validate chart review and abstraction data while helping identify and close care gaps • Partner with Quality, Clinical, Provider Relations, and Compliance teams to investigate data issues and improve reporting accuracy • Assist with NCQA audit preparation and maintain required documentation and reporting artifacts • Identify data quality issues and recommend process improvements Qualifications • Strong experience working as a HEDIS Data Analyst within a healthcare payer environment • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries • Experience working with claims, eligibility, provider, EMR, pharmacy, and lab datasets • Deep knowledge of NCQA HEDIS specifications and measure validation • Experience with both administrative and hybrid HEDIS measures • Understanding of healthcare coding standards including ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, and NDC • Familiarity with CMS Star Ratings, care gap initiatives, and NCQA audit processes • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Why Apply? • Primarily remote with only 2-4 onsite days per month- candidates must be local to New Jersey with the ability to work onsite when needed and for training • 6-month contract with strong potential for extension • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare quality initiatives • Collaborative team environment with exposure to enterprise-level healthcare analytics
