We are looking for a Lead SRE & Edge Architect to serve as the Sole Custodian of an Integrated Intelligence Ops Ecosystem within a Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) Connected environment. This role bridges physical hardware security and cloud-native application delivery, ensuring secure, resilient, and high-performance operations across hybrid infrastructure. You will lead edge architecture, hybrid workload orchestration, and zero-trust security implementation across distributed systems. πŸ”Ή Key Responsibilities Ecosystem Custodianship β€’ Design, deploy, and maintain the bridge between physical hardware security systems and GDC-native applications Hybrid Infrastructure Orchestration β€’ Deploy VM Runtime on GDC and manage hybrid workloads across VMs and containerized microservices Zero-Trust Architecture β€’ Implement MASQUE / TLS tunnels, per-machine certificates, and hardware-level encryption Full-Stack Infrastructure Ownership β€’ Manage the entire stackβ€”from physical intrusion sensors in racks to AIOps-driven self-healing workloads Connectivity & Reliability β€’ Maintain secure GDC ↔ GCP communication and ensure 99.99% uptime for edge operations πŸ”Ή Mandatory Technical Skills☁️ Cloud-Native & DevOps βœ” Expert-level Kubernetes (K8s) & Docker βœ” Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible βœ” CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins βœ” Helm Charts engineering for application deployment βœ” NGINX Load Balancer integration with Distributed Cloud Edge APIs πŸ“Š Observability & Intelligence Ops βœ” Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry (OTEL) for monitoring & distributed tracing βœ” AIOps implementation using Vertex AI for automated remediation πŸ’Ύ Storage & Virtualization βœ” Software-defined storage architecture (Symcloud Storage) βœ” Managing VM workloads alongside containers in hybrid control planes πŸ”Ή Security & Infrastructure Governance βœ” Hardware security including Physical Intrusion Sensors & Port Lockdown βœ” TPM integrations and LUKS encryption for secure data protection βœ” Implementation of Self-Encrypting Disks (SED) & Cloud KMS (CMEK) βœ” Engineering MASQUE / TLS secure tunnels with per-machine certificates βœ” IAM governance with Distributed Cloud Edge Container APIs πŸ”Ή Preferred Qualifications ⭐ Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer Certification ⭐ Experience in highly regulated industries (Defense, Banking, Healthcare, Telco) ⭐ Strong expertise in Linux Kernel tuning and Bare Metal performance optimization
