Role description
Hospital Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands, processes, and works with hospital health data at scale? We're looking for experienced health data governance leaders to help ensure that the hospital data used in cutting-edge AI development is accurate, trusted, compliant, and clinically meaningful.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You'll work at the intersection of healthcare data integrity and advanced AI — bringing your real-world experience in clinical data, compliance, and governance frameworks to projects that matter.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
• Location: Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Define and enforce data governance standards that ensure hospital health records are accurate, consistent, and secure
• Evaluate and improve the quality of healthcare data inputs used in AI model training and evaluation
• Review clinical and operational data workflows to identify gaps in governance, compliance, or data integrity
• Work across clinical, IT, and compliance domains to assess and align data policies and classification frameworks
• Assess data readiness for analytical, regulatory, and AI-specific use cases
• Provide structured, expert feedback on data quality, governance maturity, and risk exposure
• Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule
Who You Are
• Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health data operations
• Deep understanding of healthcare privacy, compliance, and regulatory frameworks — including HIPAA
• Able to think critically across clinical, technical, and administrative data domains
• Sharp eye for data quality issues — you notice inconsistencies, gaps, and risks others miss
• Clear and structured communicator who can document findings and recommendations effectively
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
Nice to Have
• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
• Background in health informatics, clinical informatics, or electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or HITRUST
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders across hospital or health system environments
• Knowledge of coding systems such as ICD-10, SNOMED, or HL7/FHIR standards
Why Join Us
• Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI development teams
• Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
• Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level work
• Apply your healthcare data expertise to one of the most consequential emerging fields in technology
• Contribute to AI systems that will influence how health data is understood and used at scale
• Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
