Role description
Job Title: DataPower Developer Contract Duration: Minimum 6 months (extension expected until December 2026) Work Mode: Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite (London office) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced IBM DataPower Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving environment-related issues to ensure the high availability and performance of the project infrastructure across DataPower and AWS environments. This role requires a hands-on technical expert with a strong background in DataPower development and a solid understanding of AWS cloud services. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Provide expert support and timely resolution of environment issues related to the Hermes project, with a focus on IBM DataPower appliances and related infrastructure. Design, develop, configure, and maintain IBM DataPower Gateway services in alignment with project requirements. Collaborate closely with mainframe teams to understand integration points and troubleshoot interdependencies. Monitor And Manage AWS Cloud Resources Including CloudWatch for logging and alerting DynamoDB for database management AWS Lambda for serverless compute workflows Implement best practices for environment stability, performance tuning, and security compliance. Develop automation solutions using Python, Shell scripting, and GitLab pipelines to improve operational efficiency. Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, status reports, and issue logs for ongoing support and knowledge sharing. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams — including developers, infrastructure engineers, and project managers — to ensure timely issue resolution and alignment on priorities. Required Skills & Qualifications Proven experience in IBM DataPower development, configuration, and troubleshooting within enterprise-scale environments. Familiarity with mainframe systems and their integration with DataPower. Strong working knowledge of AWS services (CloudWatch, DynamoDB, Lambda), including monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate technical issues and solutions. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, analytical mindset focused on delivering high-quality, reliable solutions. Desirable Skills Python scripting experience Automation development exposure Experience with GitLab pipelines
