Terms of Employment
W2 Contract-to-Hire, 12 Months
This position is primarily remote. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Reston, VA three times per year for PI planning sessions.
Candidates must be comfortable conducting a final round interview in-person in Reston, VA. Travel would be at their own expense.
Candidates must reside in Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, or North Carolina.
Overview & Responsibilities
Work with a leading firm in the healthcare sector as a Senior ITX Solutions Lead. This role is critical to the organization s claim intake process, serving as the primary technical expert for IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and upgrading the maps that handle high-volume EDI transactions, ensuring that healthcare data flows accurately and efficiently through the enterprise.
You will
Design and create complex type trees and maps using ITX Design Studio for formats including XML, CSV, JSON, and Flat Files.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ITX Healthcare Pack, ensuring adherence to EDI standards and compliance.
Lead integration efforts using ITX Advanced (ITXA), ITX REST API, and various adapters (MQ, Databases, SOAP).
Perform and oversee IBM ITX product upgrades and performance tuning, specifically integrating with B2Bi.
Collaborate with product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical mapping designs.
Support production environments by troubleshooting high-priority defects and ensuring high-quality delivery under pressure.
Mentor and train junior developers on design patterns, error-handling, and REST integration strategies.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/SAFe).
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience working with IBM Transformation Extender (ITX).
Expert-level proficiency with the ITX Healthcare Pack and healthcare EDI documents (837, 834, 835, 270, 271, 276, 277, 999).
Extensive experience in long-term, daily mapping efforts, including building and modifying maps from scratch.
Strong integration experience with ITXA and ITX REST APIs.
Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as S/FTP, HTTP/S, and SSL certificate concepts.
Experience integrating ITX maps and workflows into DevOps CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
Ability to work in a collaborative, high-pressure environment with high-volume data.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IBM Sterling B2Bi, Sterling File Gateway, or IBM Integration Bus (IIB).
Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and PI Planning processes.
Proven track record of leading technical upgrades for IBM integration suite
