Senior LSAR Engineer | ILS | Defence | Maritime Filton / Portsmouth / Broad Oak (Hybrid - 1-2 days onsite per month) £33.00 per hour PAYE | Inside IR35 6-Month Contract (Until 31/10) BPSS Clearance Required | Subject to ITAR Work on cutting-edge Naval Defence programmes The Opportunity We are recruiting 2x Senior LSAR Engineers to support high-profile maritime defence programmes, including work across cutting-edge Naval Defence programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading defence organisation, contributing to critical Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities with a strong focus on LSAR data integration, analysis, and management. Key Responsibilities As a Senior LSAR Engineer, you will: • Analyse and interpret engineering drawings to develop Product Breakdown Structures (PBS) within LSAR toolsets • Integrate and validate engineering, supplier, and maintenance data into ILS databases • Ensure accuracy, alignment, and consistency of LSAR datasets across multiple sources • Investigate and resolve data queries raised by internal teams and customers • Build complex SQL queries and reports to extract and analyse LSAR data • Support change management and helpdesk processes • Identify and resolve data discrepancies between internal systems and external datasets • Engage with stakeholders, providing technical guidance on ILS data requirements • Mentor junior team members and support continuous improvement initiatives Essential Skills & Experience • Proven experience working with LSAR (Logistics Support Analysis Record) • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings • Experience in ILS / LSA within defence, aerospace, or maritime environments • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently • Strong stakeholder communication skills Desirable • Knowledge of DefStan 00-60 / 00-600, ASD S2000L, S3000M • Experience with SQL / data querying • Understanding of configuration management principles • Working towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or equivalent • EAGLE Experience Why Apply? • Work on mission-critical defence programmes • Flexible hybrid working (minimal onsite requirement) • Opportunity to contribute to complex, large-scale engineering systems • Collaborative environment with strong technical leadership Security Requirements Due to the nature of this role: • BPSS clearance is required • Role is subject to ITAR restrictions • Applicants must meet UK security and residency requirements Apply Now If you're an experienced LSAR Engineer / ILS Engineer / LSA Specialist looking for your next contract in defence, apply today or get in touch for more information.
