Role description
Job Title: Image Processing Engineer
Location: Painted Post, NY
Duration: 12 months, possible extension
Pay Rate: $40.00/Hr. on W2 (No C2C or 1099)
Job Description:
β’ A contractor position interfacing directly with the clientβs Environmental Technologies Division Engineering Measurements & Controls group with the purpose of contributing to and developing software and algorithms for processing imaging data.
β’ This work supports the inspection and production of CET products.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
β’ Work closely with the measurements group to develop approaches for data manipulation to assist with production and quality feedback.
β’ Develop software and image processing algorithms for inspection technology.
β’ Transfer technology from early-stage development to a product suitable for use in manufacturing.
β’ Create/update documentation for release to production for applications and procedures.
β’ Train engineering, maintenance and operations people how to use and maintain developed applications and procedures.
β’ Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting using data and performance analysis of the deployed applications.
Required Education:
β’ BS degree required, prefer advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, EE, ECE or Optics.
Required Experience/Skills:
β’ Programming ability (C# & Python strongly preferred)
β’ Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and other software architecture concepts
β’ Knowledge of image processing algorithms (blob analysis, edge finding, morphology, feature extraction, classification, metrology)
β’ Data retrieval, plotting and analysis
β’ Strong communication and presentation skills (MS Office programs)
Desired Experience/Skills:
β’ Experience with image processing development packages such as Halcon or OpenCV
β’ Ability to train CNNs and utilize traditional machine learning methods
β’ Knowledge of statistical analysis approaches and MEE concepts
β’ Ability to interface with Database Management Systems
β’ Experience with Metrology, Inspection and Product Quality in support of manufacturing
β’ Optical measurements system development (optics, lighting, cameras, image acquisition, image analysis, laser, 3D measurement)
β’ Fundamental knowledge of physical optics (principles of optics)
Soft Skills:
β’ Ability to interact effectively with customers & coworkers as well as work independently.
β’ You will need to be results oriented, a quick learner and be able to multi-task effectively
