About the Role As an Industrial AI Engineer, you will design and deploy production-grade AI systems directly within a secure, on-premise industrial environment. You will bridge the gap between AI, data engineering, and infrastructure to transform fragmented manufacturing data into scalable applications. Your work will directly impact workflows and production processes by integrating large language models and data pipelines into real-world systems. This role is focused on building robust, functional tools that deliver measurable business outcomes rather than theoretical research. What You'll Do • Design and deploy on-premise AI systems and supporting infrastructure on internal servers. • Build end-to-end data pipelines connecting ERP systems, production logs, and machine data. • Implement retrieval and reasoning systems using RAG and structured querying on industrial datasets. • Develop and expose scalable APIs for integration with internal manufacturing applications. • Collaborate with operational teams to translate industrial use cases into production-ready software. • Maintain system reliability and security across multi-server environments and fault-tolerant architectures. • Optimize AI model performance for execution within constrained on-premise hardware environments. What You Bring • Professional experience deploying production-grade AI/ML systems. • Strong proficiency in Python and backend software development. • Demonstrated experience building data pipelines and processing complex data systems. • Hands-on expertise with Large Language Models (LLMs), embeddings, and RAG systems. • Solid understanding of infrastructure tools including Docker, APIs, and system architecture. • Experience managing and cleaning messy, unstructured, or real-world datasets. Nice to Haves • Experience with edge AI deployments or on-premise hardware constraints. • Domain knowledge in manufacturing, aerospace, or robotics. • Familiarity with computer vision or anomaly detection systems. • Knowledge of distributed systems and multi-server configurations. • Exposure to high-security or regulated environments. Compensation & Benefits • Contract engagement (initial 3-month term, renewable). • Initial on-site presence required for infrastructure setup, with subsequent hybrid or remote flexibility. • Candidates must meet US person requirements for regulatory compliance. • Rate based on experience.
