Role description
Lead hands‑on development and support of new and existing data integration applications using Informatica (PowerCenter, IICS, or equivalent), owning code quality, deployments, and operational stability. Responsibilities • Informatica coding and implementation: design and build mappings, mapplets, reusable transformations, workflows, sessions, parameter files, and deployment artifacts; implement error handling, logging, and restartability. • SQL analysis and optimization: author and tune complex SQL queries, analyze execution plans, optimize joins/index usage, and implement set‑based transformations for performance and scalability. • Translate business requirements into data solutions: work with business analysts to profile source data, define transformation logic, and validate outputs against business rules. • Architectural collaboration: partner with Application and Enterprise Architects to review low‑level designs and ensure alignment with high‑level data flow and governance standards. • Production support and incident management: lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and remediation for production incidents; implement preventive fixes and runbooks. • Mentorship and technical guidance: coach developers on Informatica best practices, coding standards, unit testing, and performance tuning. • Documentation and knowledge transfer: maintain detailed technical documentation for mappings, data models, interfaces, and downstream integrations. • Prioritization and planning: assist product owners and project managers in prioritizing enhancements, new development, and maintenance; estimate effort and contribute to release planning. • Evaluate new technologies: assess ELT/modern data platforms (Databricks preferred), automation, and orchestration tools for fit and adoption. • Risk escalation and stakeholder communication: surface technical risks, propose mitigation strategies, and communicate status to technical and business stakeholders. Qualifications • 7+ years of experience leading and/or hands‑on developing Data Warehouse, data integration, or data engineering projects. • Proven leadership: history of owning deliverables and guiding teams to complete complex, time‑boxed projects. • Strong Informatica expertise: extensive experience building and maintaining mappings, workflows, parameterization, reusable components, and deployment packages. • Advanced SQL skills: ability to write, profile, and optimize complex SQL; experience with query tuning, indexing strategies, and analyzing execution plans. • Data modeling knowledge: dimensional and normalized modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and metadata management. • Experience with ELT and modern stacks: Databricks or INFROMATICA platforms preferred. • Solid troubleshooting skills for production support, performance issues, and data quality problems. • Excellent communication skills: able to explain technical tradeoffs to business stakeholders and produce clear documentation. Required Skills • Mentor and coach who builds team capability and encourages knowledge sharing. • Customer‑focused with the ability to balance urgent fixes and long‑term architecture. • Analytical problem solver who uses data to drive decisions. • Organized and detail oriented with a bias for documentation and repeatable processes. • Collaborative across architects, QA, business analysts, and operations.
