The Role Working closely with the Information and Data Governance Manager, the Information and Data Governance Analyst will play a key role in shaping and delivering the CAA’s information and data governance vision, aligned with the broader data strategy. This role will champion the value of robust governance practices, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The role holder will embed governance principles across business-as-usual and project activities, supporting the development of frameworks, models, and tools that enable effective data stewardship and information lifecycle management. Core Accountabilities • Embedding Information and Data Governance Practices Support the development and implementation of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that ensure the responsible use, sharing, and protection of information across the CAA. • Project Governance Support Provide subject matter expertise to ensure governance principles are embedded in project delivery, including data classification, data ownership, and information architecture. • Policy Compliance and Monitoring Monitor adherence to governance policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and supporting remediation activities. • Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with Data Owners, Data Stewards, and other key stakeholders to promote accountability and drive adoption of governance practices. • Information Lifecycle and Records Management Contribute to the design and implementation of models for managing information and records throughout their lifecycle—from creation and use to archiving and disposal. • Governance Tooling and Enablement Act as a super user and advocate for governance-related tools and platforms, including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online, ensuring they are configured and used effectively. About You To be considered for this role you must: • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of information and data governance principles, including regulatory and compliance requirements. • Have experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks and supporting policy enforcement. • Familiarity with information architecture and metadata management in both operational and project contexts. • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online, with the ability to configure and optimize these platforms for governance purposes. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams. Additional Information For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance. To be vetted we will usually expect a reasonable period of residency in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken. For this role this will need to be 5 years. Relocation & Property The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations. We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers. We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search.
