Role description
We are currently looking for an Information Scientist - Content Analytics to join a leading pharmaceutical company on a hybrid basis. This exciting opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in content analytics, information science, and emerging AI tools to support R&D teams in making smarter, data-driven decisions. As an integral part of the scientific information and intelligence team, you will develop and implement innovative content strategies, interpret scientific queries, and apply AI-enabled technologies to derive meaningful insights from biomedical literature and external data sources. This role sits at the cutting edge of information science and responsible AI adoption, empowering our client’s R&D functions to work more efficiently and effectively. Key Duties And Responsibilities Your duties as the Information Scientist - Content Analytics will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows: β€’ Design, configure, and evolve content analytics workflows for literature discovery, summarisation, and trend analysis, leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance scientific content analysis. β€’ Develop and maintain external information endpoints, ensuring adherence to FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and interoperability standards. β€’ Apply AI capabilities, such as LLM-based tools and semantic technologies, to improve information retrieval, content categorisation, and summarisation. β€’ Evaluate, pilot, and advise on emerging AI tools relevant to scientific content analysis, acting as a knowledgeable but non-engineering subject matter expert. β€’ Support pharmaceutical R&D processes by translating complex scientific and business questions into effective search, analysis, and synthesis approaches. β€’ Support cross-functional stakeholders by providing training, developing guidelines, and enabling best practices for content analytics and AI tool usage. β€’ As the Information Scientist you will ensure compliance with copyright, licensing, and data governance standards while maintaining robust data integrity and audit trails. Role Requirements To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Information Scientist - Content Analytics we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: β€’ A Degree or higher level in a relevant scientific or information discipline (e.g., Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Knowledge Management / Data Science). β€’ Proven experience in information science, content analysis, or knowledge synthesis within a biomedical or scientific setting. β€’ Familiarity with AI-enabled content analysis capabilities such as NLP, LLMs, and semantic technologies. β€’ Good understanding of data lifecycle management, metadata, ontologies, and FAIR data principles. β€’ Strong communication skills to collaborate across scientific and digital teams and support stakeholder enablement.
