Information Technology Business Analyst

Job Title: Senior IT Business Analyst (Energy Trading / ETRM) Duration: Contract Workload: Full time hours Setup: Freelance (Daily rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader) Location: London (hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite) We’re seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support a large-scale ETRM transformation programme within the Oil & Gas sector. Key Responsibilities: • Capture business problems, value drivers, and translate into functional and non-functional requirements • Model business processes, data flows, and system interactions to identify improvement opportunities • Produce high-quality documentation ensuring full traceability from requirements through to delivery • Partner with developers and vendors to shape system and database design (Endur and related platforms) • Define acceptance criteria, coordinate UAT, and validate solutions against business needs • Lead stakeholder engagement, workshops, and design sessions across business and technical teams • Drive Business Analysis activities across the full project lifecycle (Agile delivery environment) Must-Have Skills: • Strong experience in Agile frameworks, tools, and delivery environments • 7–10 years’ IT Business Analysis experience including team leadership • Proven background in complex IT transformation programmes (ideally ETRM / trading systems) • Experience with process modelling, data analysis, and stakeholder management • Ability to educate Product Owners and business stakeholders on Agile practices • Degree in IT or related field Nice-to-Have: • CBAP or PMI-PBA certification • Experience with Endur or similar ETRM platforms • Lean Practitioner background • Agile certifications
