We aim to create a world where travel is simple, seamless, eco-friendly, and affordable. Role Overview: Insights Analyst We are currently seeking an Insights Analyst for our Corporate Affairs team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving data-led storytelling to support our Communications, Industry Relations, and Government Relations teams across multiple regions, including the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and the US. You will creatively explore our extensive data sets to tell compelling stories, enhancing our market presence, business narrative, and reputation within the rail industry and government sectors. You will be part of the Corporate Affairs team with a connection to our data organization, which encompasses Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Data Product Management. Both teams are at the forefront of our growth and market positioning as we work towards empowering greener travel choices. This role is initially a 3-month fixed-term contract, ideally for immediate start. Key Responsibilities: • Drive ideation on data-led storytelling opportunities based on an in-depth understanding of our data and insights. • Ensure we have the right data analysis in place for key calendar moments and sales events, including passenger increase numbers, price movements, and key routes. • Maximize newsjacking opportunities by identifying and verifying the correct data points. • Analyze data to identify trends and changes in consumer behavior, uncovering engaging angles for storytelling. Qualifications: • 2+ years of proven experience using analytics to drive business decisions. • Ability to distill and communicate the results of complex analyses clearly. • Proficiency in navigating complex data sets and conducting analysis to derive actionable insights. • Strong communication and data visualization skills, utilizing tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, and Power BI. • Strong SQL skills and experience using Python. • Familiarity with tech stack elements such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, AWS Athena, and more. • A creative mindset with an interest in developing compelling rail-related stories for the press, industry, and government.
