Akkodis is seeking a for Inspection Coordinator β Contractor Role at Location: Syracuse, NY for a contract Duration: 06+Months.
Pay Range: $28/h- $30/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Location: Syracuse, NY Schedule: Hybrid (Tues/Thurs in office; Mon/Wed/Fri remote)
Overview
A leading utility provider is seeking a Contractor to join the Third Party Attachments team as an Inspection Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating post-construction and special inspections of third-party applications on distribution and sub-transmission assets. The position reports to the Third Party Attachments Manager and focuses on ensuring compliance with safety codes and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Inspection coordination: Manage post-construction and special inspections of third-party attachments.
β’ Policy application: Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and standards across the upstate NY jurisdiction.
β’ Vendor/customer liaison: Coordinate with customers, approved vendors, and joint pole owners for inspection and remediation.
β’ Data management: Maintain inspection program data, trackers, and software systems.
β’ Regulatory reporting: Prepare reports and support compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
β’ Engineering coordination: Work with internal/external engineering teams to align inspection results with design standards.
β’ Billing support: Assist with billing and invoicing related to inspections.
β’ Performance metrics: Develop KPIs and analyze inspection trends, violation types, and attacher performance.
β’ Process improvement: Contribute to strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance safety and reliability.
Qualifications
β’ Associate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Management/Technology, or equivalent 1β3 years of experience.
β’ Developing knowledge of OSHA, NEC/NESC, and utility standards.
β’ Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word); Access and Visio a plus.
β’ Understanding of safe practices for overhead and underground distribution facilities.
β’ Ability to interpret contracts, standards, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
β’ Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
β’ Familiarity with utility systems such as STORMS, GIS, PowerPlan, SAP, Business Objects beneficial.
β’ Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
β’ Knowledge of financial processes, customer relations, engineering design, and procurement is advantageous.
β’ Valid driverβs license and acceptable driving record required.
