This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade.

The Role
The City of London Police has opportunities arising across the Force’s Specialist Operations and National Lead Force directorates; and is currently seeking experienced Intelligence Analysts to join their team, or those seeking to move into the profession with some suitable analyst experience. Recruitment will be for a central pool to provide support across the organisation where and when it is needed.
You will be required to deliver a high-quality analytical service in support of the priorities for the City of London Police. The role will require you to drive forward intelligence development ensuring the use of strategic, tactical and operational opportunities.
Intelligence analysts recruited into this role could be posted to one of the many teams covering local policing priorities, serious and organised crime or the strategic intelligence as well as specialist areas within the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), central fraud intelligence teams, anti-money laundering, cyber crime and funded units supporting Insurance fraud, Intellectual Property Fraud and Dedicated Card and Payment Crime.
The City of London is a key business centre by day with a vibrant night-time economy and growing hotel industry. The City continues to grow with construction underway on a number of sites at any one time. These daytime and night-time activities contribute to the crime areas we need to prevent and manage with our resources, with our analytical teams giving direction for the best use of these.
The City of London Police (CoLP) is nationally and internationally renowned for its expertise in identifying, combating and preventing fraud. The NLF Directorate (NLF) plays a vital role in this process with many NLF teams requiring intelligence support from analysts across the force.
Postings will be made based on the force priorities and need at the time of posting. Internal moves can be expected throughout your career, allowing applicants to continue their personal development, learning a range of different skills and expertise across the different teams and directorates.

Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an intelligence analyst or other suitable analytical experience.
• Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a proven analytical background from within law enforcement, the wider public sector and/or a closely associated organisations.
• Collect, evaluate and analyse data from various sources, with a view to identifying offenders, victims, hotspot locations, crime patterns and crime series, resulting in the prioritisation of police resources both at the tactical and strategic level.
• Give structured and detailed written and / or verbal briefings and presentations.
• Desirable – Experience with operational analysis and creating evidence.
• Desirable – To have obtained their Intelligence Professional Programme certification.
