Role description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst with strong SAP experience to support inventory management, analysis, reconciliation, and optimization activities across the organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, analyzing inventory trends, identifying discrepancies, and partnering with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to improve inventory performance.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in SAP, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of inventory management, material movements, and supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze inventory levels, trends, turnover, aging, and movement to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and SAP system records.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and research variances, adjustments, and material movements.
• Utilize SAP to research inventory balances, material master data, purchase orders, goods receipts, transfers, and other inventory transactions.
• Support cycle counting, physical inventory counts, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Identify slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and potentially at-risk inventory.
• Prepare and maintain inventory reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries for management.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve inventory issues.
• Analyze inventory-related data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities to improve processes.
• Assist with inventory forecasting, replenishment, and optimization activities as needed.
• Review and validate inventory adjustments and ensure appropriate documentation and controls are maintained.
• Support month-end and year-end inventory activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Assist with SAP data integrity and ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives designed to improve inventory accuracy, reduce excess inventory, and increase operational efficiency.
• Develop ad hoc analyses and reports to support operational and financial decision-making.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in inventory analysis, supply chain, materials management, logistics, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience working in SAP, preferably in an inventory, materials management, or supply chain environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory transactions, material movements, purchasing, receiving, transfers, and adjustments.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SAP MM (Materials Management) or related SAP Supply Chain functionality.
• Experience with SAP inventory transactions and reporting.
• Experience supporting physical inventory and cycle-count programs.
