Role description
Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in stock counts, and optimizing supply chain processes. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution, procurement, and inventory management practices. The Inventory Control Specialist will work closely with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and support the overall business objectives. Duties Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular audits and reconciliations. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements and ensure proper stocking. Collaborate with supply chain management to forecast demand and plan for inventory needs. Conduct data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Manage purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts for optimal pricing. Implement root cause analysis techniques to address inventory discrepancies and improve accuracy. Oversee shipping & receiving operations to ensure timely order fulfillment and materials handling. Utilize data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to present inventory metrics to stakeholders. Assist in the development of financial models related to inventory costs and procurement strategies. Maintain compliance with safety standards while operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Requirements Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or supply chain analytics. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data mining, financial analysis, and demand planning. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., AS400) and MRP processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of logistics principles, including shipping & receiving processes and order fulfillment strategies. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required in a warehouse environment. Experience with e-commerce platforms and retail management is a plus. Proficient in SQL for data collection and analysis purposes. Excellent negotiation skills for supplier management and contract negotiations. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
