Title: IT Consultant Location: St. Leonardtown, MD 20650 Below Are The Key Requirements • Provide strategic IT leadership and planning for the department. • Develop and implement IT governance, cybersecurity improvement, and data management plans. • Create a data warehouse roadmap and improve operational efficiency. • Prepare reports, frameworks, and strategic documents as part of deliverables. • Participate in quarterly onsite meetings (hybrid work – mainly virtual with some onsite). Applicants shall demonstrate a strong understanding of the following disciplines: • Technology Leadership – refers to the strategic and operational guidance provided by IT leaders to ensure technology is aligned with business goals. It involves decision-making, innovation, and governance to drive digital transformation, optimize IT investments, and deliver value to the organization. • Cybersecurity Leadership – Involves establishing, guiding, and overseeing strategies, policies, and practices to protect an organization’s IT services, data, and infrastructure from security threats. It ensures alignment of cybersecurity measures with business objectives and fosters a culture of security awareness and compliance. • Governance, Risk, and Management – The processes and practices designed to ensure that cybersecurity policies, controls, and procedures align with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk management strategies. It focuses on establishing a governance framework, identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks, and maintaining compliance with applicable standards and regulations to protect information and IT systems. • Technology Disciplines – The structured management and governance of various IT technologies and platforms to support service delivery and achieve business objectives. This includes managing infrastructure, applications, networks, databases, and other technical components to ensure performance, reliability, scalability, and alignment with organizational goals. • Data and Analytics – Focuses on the discipline of collecting, processing, analyzing, and managing data to extract actionable insights, support decision-making, and drive value for the organization. It focuses on leveraging data to optimize performance, and align with business objectives. RFP 26-07, Information Technology Consultant • Data Center – Focuses on the management, operation, and optimization of physical and virtual data center environments. It ensures the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and aligned with business needs while supporting IT services efficiently and securely. • Data Warehouse- Focuses on the development of a centralized repository for a large amount of data from various internal and external sources. This warehouse should allow for easy data queries and visualization. • Hosting/Storage – Focuses on the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure related to data housing and storage. This includes ensuring the availability, scalability, security, and efficient utilization of hosting environments (e.g., on-premise servers, cloud platforms) and storage resources to support business operations and IT services. • System Integration – Responsible for ensuring that diverse IT systems, applications, and components work together seamlessly as a unified ecosystem. It involves designing, implementing, and managing interfaces and data flows between systems to support business processes and enable efficient service delivery. • Cloud Services – Focuses on the management and delivery of cloud-based IT resources and services, ensuring they are designed, deployed, operated, and governed effectively to meet business requirements. It encompasses areas like service provisioning, scalability, security, cost optimization, and integration with existing IT service management practices.
