IT Data Lead Engineer | Trading and Supply

This is a Houston based contract role with an anticipated April 2, 2026 start date and ending on December 30, 2029. NOTE: You must be a US Citizen or Permanent US resident to qualify for the position. Our client (Shell Trading & Supply) is seeking an experienced IT Data Lead to help shape data strategy and deliver key analysis and design inputs supporting a major ETRM transformation initiative. In this role, you’ll act as a subject matter expert across multiple IT systems/domains, partnering with stakeholders to drive pragmatic, high-impact data and solution decisions. About The Role Data Strategy, analysis and design deliverables are aimed to be completed as inputs to GIP (could initially be a p/t role - this needs further discussion and alignment). As the IT Data Lead you will: • Lead data strategy, analysis, and design deliverables to enable downstream project execution • Provide functional and technical support on moderately complex applications and infrastructure to experienced colleagues • Operate independently—setting priorities, driving clarity, and delivering outcomes with minimal oversight • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) across multiple IT systems/domains, advising on best practices and optimal platform usage • Identify improvement opportunities and recommend practical enhancements to data/process/technology approaches Project context Portfolio: Downstream & Renewables IDT → Trading & Supply (Crude & Products) Project: Chloe (Products ETRM) — replacement of DEX to deliver ETRM transformation Current business applications: Endur Products, DEX \_\_PRESENT Business Application: Endur Products, DEX Project Type: IT Project Project Class: | Agile Facilitation - Skill, Data Excellence - Skill, Project Planning & Tracking - Skill Qualifications Required (must-have): • crude • ETRM transformation • Openlink Endur • Trading & Supply Preferred (nice-to-have): • Experience defining and governing data strategy for large-scale transformations • Strong stakeholder management skills across business and IT teams in Trading & Supply environments • Hands-on familiarity with Agile delivery practices and cross-functional collaboration Work location & schedule This is an onsite role based in Houston, TX.
