Role description
Role: IT & Governance Business Analyst (Collibra) Location: Manchester, UK Job Type: Contract Required skills & qualifications • Demonstrated experience in information/data management, cataloguing, metadata/taxonomy development, and unstructured content management. • Proven capability in business process analysis, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder engagement across Business/IT/Governance teams. • A strong track record of supporting digital transformation and information management initiatives within large, complex corporate environments. • Hands-on with information governance and catalog/classification platforms (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, OpenText, SharePoint/Teams/OneDrive, Box, Google Workspace). • Strong documentation discipline (BRD/FRD/URS), agile user stories (Jira/Azure DevOps), and test/UAT support. • Excellent communication, influencing, and change-management skills; ability to translate between business and technical audiences. Nice to have • Exposure to auto-classification/NLP and AI readiness for unstructured content (e.g., Syntex/Copilot, Azure AI Search, AWS Comprehend, GCP DLP). • Basic SQL/Python for profiling and quality sampling; experience with search/retrieval patterns for AI (RAG, embeddings, metadata strategies). • Industry experience in life sciences, financial services, or public sector; knowledge of GxP (nice for pharma contexts). • Certifications: CDMP, IGP/CIP, Agile BA/CBAP, Prosci/Change, PRINCE2/Scrum.
