Role description
If you are an SC Cleared (must be live) Data Modeller we have a new contract we would like to discuss with you.
Please note thios role has been deemed INSIDE IR35 and requires one day per week onsite.
The Senior Data Modeller will design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models across the organisation. They will work closely with business users and subject matter experts to ensure alignment between business needs, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data architecture standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data modelling best practices, experience with data modelling tools such as ERWIN, and proven ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This individual will help define the data foundations that drive the organisation's analytical and regulatory goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain strategic conceptual data models outlining domains, entities, and relationships.
• Build detailed logical and physical data models aligned with business rules and objectives.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into structured data artefacts.
• Ensure data models are reusable, scalable, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
• Partner with enterprise data architects to ensure alignment with corporate data models.
• Support technical teams in implementing data models within the data ecosystem.
• Champion data modelling best practices across the organisation and provide expertise to internal data users.
Role Criteria
Essential:
• Strong experience developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into structured data artefacts.
• Demonstrable experience using ERWIN Data Modeler or equivalent tools (eg, PowerDesigner, Sparx Enterprise Architect).
• In-depth knowledge of data modelling methodologies (eg, 3NF, Dimensional, Data Vault).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience collaborating across business and technical functions.
• Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly, including data lineage, data usage, and data structures.
Desirable:
• Experience working in a cloud-based or hybrid data environment.
• Background in regulated sectors or large-scale enterprise data integration.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
