Role Overview:
The Senior IT Procurement Manager β Interim, is responsible for key elements of the spend and leadership of selected strategic projects and key initiatives within the Global IT Category, including Software, SaaS, IT Services and Cloud. The scope of the Senior IT Procurement Manager role includes responsibility for associated expenditure within the parameters of the role. Specifically but not exhaustively, the Senior IT Procurement Manager has responsibility for stakeholder and supplier engagement activities associated with the IT Category. The Senior IT Procurement Manager establishes and proactively manages key business stakeholder relationships, leads proactive sourcing projects, influences specification definition & demand management, as well as managing Category specific supplier performance and innovation activities. The Senior IT Procurement Manager will be based in Croxley and reports directly to the IT Global Category Director
Responsibilities:
β’ Responsible for leading and managing key Projects and Strategic initiatives in co-ordination with the relevant Global Category Leads and IT Global Category Director
β’ Accountable for the delivery of specific elements of the IT Category savings targets
β’ Responsible for the collection of supplier, supply market, category and internal business data and information for elements of the IT Category
β’ Managing and leading complex RFX processes, from defining requirements to supplier selection, negotiation, and contract execution.
β’ Contractual and commercial Negotiation of Global multi-year IT contracts with a deep understanding of SaaS agreements, Software licensing models, pricing structures, and IT licensing and services agreements.
β’ A deep understanding of Tier 1 Software Enterprise providers including; Microsoft, SAP, ServiceNOW, PROβs, Workday, Oracle
β’ Partnering with IT, Finance, and Legal teams to align procurement strategies with business needs.
β’ Driving compliance with procurement policies and governance frameworks.
β’ Identifying and implementing best practices in IT procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Category Management.
β’ Accountable for identifying key supplier risks within the IT Category and agreeing mitigating activities with the relevant Global Category Lead and business stakeholders
β’ Accountable for ensuring that any supplier performance risks and issues are resolved on a timely basis
β’ Responsible for supporting the development and the execution of selected projects based on the IT Category strategy and supporting business planning activities that feed into the Annual Procurement Category Plan for The IT Category
β’ Accountable for ensuring the Category projects agreed to within the Global the IT Category Strategy are executed in a timely basis in line with the targeted goals
β’ Accountable for supporting the implementation of consistent KPIs for the IT Category
β’ Responsible for the creation, application, negotiation, review and completion of major contracts for the IT Category
β’ Accountable for ensuring that relevant activities delivered by Regional Implementation team members / GBS Procurement team members within the IT Category are in line with the overall Category strategy
β’ Accountable for ensuring negotiated contracts are clearly communicated to business stakeholders for the IT Category, and that they are consistently applied
β’ Responsible for monitoring compliance and adherence to Smith & Nephew Procurement policies and Procurement Pathways process and procedures within the IT Category
β’ Responsible for ensuring internal issues within the IT Category are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
Education / Qualifications:
Bachelorβs degree required at a minimum, in fields such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific or technical field. Strong preference for CIPS or similar professional qualification.
Experience:
10+ years of experience in a Global IT Strategic Procurement environment and Software Category Management experience. Experience in managing complex IT projects and contract negotiations with Tier 1 IT vendors. Experience in conducting SRM activity with Strategic IT suppliers and managing the associated risks identified.
