IT Projects Business Analyst - ETRM

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major transformation programme within the Energy & Trading sector. The programme focuses on streamlining processes, improving data management, and implementing new trading and risk management systems to enable scalable business growth over the next decade. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of delivering business value through IT-enabled change in Agile environments. Key Responsibilities • Capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, and translate them into clear, actionable functionality. • Assess risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impact of proposed solutions. • Model processes, data flows, and technology to identify opportunities for improvement. • Create and maintain clear, traceable documentation throughout the project lifecycle. • Ensure requirements are linked from business needs through testing, scope changes, and final solution delivery. • Collaborate with software suppliers, designers, and developers to ensure business requirements and use cases are met. • Configure and document software and processes using agreed standards and tools. • Define acceptance criteria, coordinate testing, and validate that solutions meet business needs. • Develop and present compelling business cases to secure funding and prioritisation. • Plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters. • Lead stakeholder management activities and facilitate large design workshops. • Mentor and guide teams in completing business analysis deliverables. Mandatory Skills • 4–7 years of IT Business Analysis experience. • Strong background in Agile project delivery, including educating stakeholders and product owners in Agile practices. • Experience in systems engineering concepts, process/data analysis and modelling, and technology solutions. • University degree in IT, Business, or related field. Preferred / Optional Skills • Agile certifications (Scrum Master, SAFe, etc.). • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMI-PBA certification. • Lean Practitioner training/experience.
