Role description
IT Strategy & Project Management Office Transformation Consultant
Sacramento, CA (hybrid position: the resource will work remotely and will be required to come onsite for 3 consecutive days, Tuesday through Thursday, every six (6) weeks. The sixth week that requires onsite work)

Mandatory Requirements
β’ Must have experience with data interpretation and visualization through tools like SQL and business objects.
β’ 7+ years in IT Strategy/PMO leadership with hands-on program delivery.
β’ PMO re-design experience (operating model, intake, governance, portfolio management).
β’ Demonstrated success implementing AI & analytics in PMO reporting and decision support.
β’ Financial governance experience (CapEx/OpEx, forecasting, benefits realization).
β’ Track record in organizational design and role clarity (RACI, job architecture).
β’ Excellent stakeholder management with CIO/CTO-level visibility.
β’ Minimum ten (10) yearsβ experience in IT Project Management.
β’ 7+ years demonstrating successful management of multiple concurrent enterprise-level projects, preferably within regulated or utility environments.
β’ Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate and adapt to unfamiliar environments, cultures, processes, and technologies.
β’ 7+ years with strong skills in multi-stakeholder communication, schedule and cost control, risk management, and governance adherence.
β’ 7+ years proficient in project management tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Clarity, and PowerBI is a plus.
β’ Demonstrated success in building new teams and facilitating stakeholder engagement across levels from director contributors to executives.
Desirable Qualifications
β’ PMP certification
β’ Agile Product Owner certification
β’ MBA with emphasis in IT and/or financial-related studies
β’ Bachelorβs in CS/IS/Engineering/Business; MBA a plus
β’ PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, TOGAF, BRMP, ITIL, COBIT, Prosci (nice-to-have mix)
Soft Skills & Leadership
β’ Executive communication; storytelling with data.
β’ Change management (Prosci/ADKAR).
β’ Workshop facilitation; conflict resolution.
β’ Pragmatic, hands-on delivery while designing systems that scale
