Key Responsibilities:
• Support development of the ITAM strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices (e.g., ISO/IEC 19770-1). Support development, and approve IT asset management guardrails, processes, and procedures in alignment with industry standards (i.e. ISO:19770-1).
• Lead the tactical ITAM team. Assess and monitor the skills and capabilities of the ITAM team and ITAM third party service providers.
• Collaborate and engage with key business stakeholders including procurement, finance, security, enterprise architecture, IT operations, identity and access management, end user services and release, IT risk and compliance, legal, and human resources for ITAM activities to ensure awareness of their ITAM responsibilities, and review the functional capabilities.
• Ensure the maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT assets including both the technical and commercial hardware and software inventories.
• Ensure software and hardware is aligned with the technology roadmap.
• Establish, implement and continuously improve ITAM processes. Track and manage IT asset lifecycles, ensuring timely maintenance, upgrades, and replacements.
• Continuously improve the ITAM service and evolve the service based on emerging technology and asset classes.
• Manage, mitigate, and escalate critical ITAM risks. For major incidents, work closely with IT support teams to resolve issues.
• Govern IT Asset Management via the Governance Forum, including reviewing new software and hardware requests, and raising and escalating software and hardware risks.
• Develop and track ITAM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms. Generate reports and provide insights on IT asset utilisation, costs, and risks.
What do you need?
• 7+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, demonstrating a strong understanding of ITAM principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• 3+ years of experience in leading and managing teams, including performance management and skills development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards such as ISO:19770-1.
• Strong knowledge and 3+ years of experience working with a CMDB and the specific business services that it supports.
• Strong knowledge of hardware asset management policies and procedures, and 3+ years of experience working in hardware asset management.
• 5 years of ITAM tool experience, such as ServiceNow, Snow, Flexera etc.
• Proven ability and 5 years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing ITAM policies, processes, and procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
• In depth knowledge of licensing agreements involving software, including Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle.
