Job Title: Java/Database Developer
Tenure : 1 year - PAYE (Contract)
Location: Glasgow, United Kingdom
Hybrid Work : 3 days a week
We are currently hiring a Java/DB Developer to join a high-performing team in a globally renowned financial services organisation. This role sits within a Centre of Excellence focused on enterprise-wide adoption of digital transformation and electronic signature platforms, playing a key role in building and supporting API integrations and internal tools.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced software engineer with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise, and a keen interest in working on a high-impact digitalisation initiative.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop and maintain Java Spring Boot applications, with a focus on system integration and support of electronic signature services
β’ Handle technical queries related to API integrations, envelope processing, account entitlements, and platform troubleshooting
β’ Contribute to global adoption and rollout of e-signature capabilities across business units
β’ Support operational readiness and user onboarding processes, including training facilitation
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies, including stakeholders, QA, and infrastructure teams
β’ Perform functional and technical analysis, write detailed system specifications, and translate business needs into actionable development
β’ Conduct unit testing, assist in UAT phases, and participate in issue resolution
β’ Ensure timely documentation and status updates for senior stakeholders
β’ Assist in defining best practices for DocuSign integration, security, and compliance
Skills & Experience Required
β’ Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and microservices
β’ Proficient in database development with Postgres or DB2, including PL/SQL and query optimisation
β’ Experience working with REST and SOAP APIs
β’ Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
β’ Knowledge of data structures and algorithms with strong problem-solving ability
β’ Hands-on experience with software tools such as Jira, ALM, and ServiceNow
β’ Working knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
β’ Exposure to DocuSign or other e-signature platforms is highly desirable
β’ Cloud and Kafka experience are considered a plus
