Java/Go Engineer

Our client, a major financial institution, is actively looking for a Java/Go Engineer to join their team in Phoenix, AZ! This is a hybrid position, only local applicants will be considered. • • • This begins as a 6 month contract with an opportunity to extend • • • This engineer needs to build and connect backend services that are secure, fast, and reliable — primarily using Go and Java — while working with modern databases, REST APIs, and cloud infrastructure. Think of them as a backend generalist who's security-aware, data-savvy, and can ship production-grade code independent Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Go (Golang) and Java • Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices supporting high-volume applications • Integrate applications with Java-based services using JWT-based authentication and authorization • Develop and maintain web application components using JavaScript • Design and optimize data models, queries, and integrations with PostgreSQL and Couchbase • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers • Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance, reliability, and security improvements • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes • Document technical designs, APIs, and operational procedures Required Qualifications • 6+ years of software engineering experience developing enterprise applications • Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and Java • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices • Strong JavaScript development experience • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and Couchbase • Experience implementing JWT-based authentication and authorization pattern • Strong understanding of distributed systems, API security, and application integration • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud platforms • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms • Experience with observability tools, logging, and monitoring frameworks • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
