Web/Mobile App Developer (React Native + Next.js) Location: Remote (Preferred: Atlanta, GA / EST hours) Contract Length: 6 Month Contract Start Date: End of June Our Digital Media client is looking for a Web/Mobile App Developer to support a key initiative to bring their mobile app development in-house. This role is a unique opportunity to work on highly visible consumer-facing products and help shape the future of their app platform. You’ll collaborate closely with internal UX teams and developers to transition an existing Progressive Web App (PWA) currently managed by a third party into a robust, internally owned experience using React Native with Expo and Next.js. You will be part of a nimble Agile team that values innovation, efficiency, and collaboration—especially as the organization evolves to do more with less, leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot and other AI-based accelerators. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain mobile and web applications using React Native (with Expo) and Next.js • Collaborate with UX designers and business stakeholders to create intuitive, high-quality digital experiences • Partner with other developers to build and refactor modular components across platforms • Contribute to the planning and implementation of bringing a 3rd-party managed app in-house • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews • Use AWS for deployment and application scalability • Leverage AI tools where appropriate to increase development efficiency • Remain flexible and adaptive to shifting project demands and limited capacity Required Skills: • Strong experience with React Native and Expo for mobile development • Proficiency with Next.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks • Solid understanding of front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript • Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS • Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments with collaborative UX/development workflows • Self-starter who can operate with autonomy and communicate clearly across teams Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA) • Familiarity with AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) • Exposure to media, publishing, or content delivery platforms • Experience working with small teams or start-up-style environments Why This Role: • Work on a high-impact, year-end initiative to modernize and internalize mobile development • Join a tight-knit, fast-moving team with cross-functional support from design and product • Be part of a company-wide push to scale smarter using modern tools and workflows • Potential for long-term opportunity depending on project success and budget
