Contract Node.js Developer – GCP Microservices Hybrid London | £450–£475/day (Outside IR35) | ⏱️ 3 months rolling We're working with a leading consultancy on the lookout for a skilled Node.js Developer to join a high-profile cloud transformation programme. This is a contract role, focused on building scalable microservices and APIs in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. Key Responsibilities: • Build and maintain cloud-native microservices using Node.js • Develop APIs with OpenAPI / YAML and manage RESTful integrations • Secure applications with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, CORS, and CSRF protections • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and GKE for containerized deployments • Write unit and functional tests (e.g. Cypress) • Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (GitHub, Terraform, Ansible) • Monitor and debug services using Splunk, StackDriver, etc. Ideal Profile: • Strong Node.js experience in microservices architecture • Solid background in GCP and container orchestration • Familiar with API gateways (e.g. Apigee, Mulesoft) • Comfortable with SQL/NoSQL, scripting, and infrastructure tools • Understanding of API security protocols and session management • Bonus: Telecom, Payments, or Identity domain experience
