Role description
REMOTE Jira Analyst (PST or MST preferred)
Optomi, in partnership with a major consulting company, is seeking an experienced Jira Analyst to support a large-scale, enterprise transformation initiative. This role is responsible for Jira analytics, executive reporting, OKR and financial tracking, workflow monitoring, and Jira governance across multiple program teams.
The Jira Analyst will partner closely with program leadership, delivery managers, and technical teams to transform raw data into actionable insights, support executive decision-making, and ensure consistent, effective use of Jira and Atlassian tools across the program.
This role requires a strong balance of analytical expertise, Jira platform knowledge, stakeholder communication, and training capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Jira Analytics & Reporting
• Design, build, and maintain executive-level dashboards using Atlassian Analytics
• Transform Jira, OKR, and financial data into clear, accurate, and actionable reports
• Transition existing Excel-based reporting into Jira and Atlassian Analytics dashboards
• Partner with engineers and data teams to prepare and structure data for analytics
• Support executive and client-facing presentations with data-driven insights
Data Analysis & Insights
• Analyze OKR progress, roadmap execution, and financial/budget data
• Identify trends, risks, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Provide clear recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative analysis
Workflow & Roadmap Monitoring
• Monitor Jira workflows and approval processes to ensure efficiency and compliance
• Track progress against program roadmaps and milestones
• Proactively identify and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies
• Support sprint setup, prioritization, and ongoing backlog management
Financial & Budget Reporting
• Support budget and financial tracking in partnership with program leadership
• Generate reporting related to spend, forecasts, and variance to plan
Training, Governance & Documentation
• Develop Jira governance standards, best practices, and operating procedures
• Create and maintain documentation in Confluence
• Design and deliver training programs on Jira usage, OKR processes, and reporting
• Conduct live and/or virtual training sessions for program team members
• Collect feedback and continuously improve training materials and processes
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Gather stakeholder feedback and track action items to resolution
• Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience working with Jira in an analytics, reporting, or program support capacity
• Strong expertise with Atlassian Analytics, Jira dashboards, and reporting
• Hands-on experience with Jira Software and Tempo
• Ability to work at a Jira platform and configuration level (without being positioned as a Jira Admin)
• Experience supporting executive-level reporting and decision-making
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work into sprints
• Experience analyzing OKRs, roadmaps, and financial or budget-related data
• Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple requests simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Jira Align
• Familiarity with Snowflake data concepts (no programming required)
• Familiarity with Databricks principles (no programming required)
• Experience working in large-scale transformation or public-sector initiatives
