This role is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise job scheduling workflows to ensure reliable, efficient execution of critical business processes across systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in job orchestration, automation, and production support, along with a strong understanding of enterprise IT environments. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain job scheduling workflows using Argent Software (Argent Job Scheduler) • Manage daily batch operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving job failures • Develop and optimize job dependencies, calendars, triggers, and scheduling logic • Interface with application, infrastructure, and database teams to coordinate job execution requirements • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions for recurring issues • Create and maintain scheduling documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, SLAs, and audit requirements • Support system upgrades, migrations, and patching activities related to scheduling tools • Automate manual processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk • Participate in on-call support rotations for production scheduling environments Required Qualifications • 10+ years of overall IT experience • 3+ years of experience working with enterprise job scheduling tools, with direct experience in Argent Software (required) • Strong understanding of batch processing, workload automation, and job orchestration • Experience working in Windows, Linux/Unix, or hybrid environments • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to support automation • Experience with database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience with other scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, AutoSys, Tivoli Workload Scheduler) • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools and alerting systems • Understanding of ITIL processes and incident/change management • Experience in cloud or hybrid environments (Azure, AWS) • Knowledge of APIs and integration patterns for enterprise systems
