Senior LabWare LIMS Subject Matter Expert (Multi year Contract) Location: Onsite β€” Columbia, MD Sesheng LLC is seeking an experienced Senior LabWare LIMS Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an onsite contract engagement in Columbia, MD. In this role, you will work directly alongside internal LIMS Administration, IT, and laboratory teams, as well as third-party vendor partners, to drive the configuration, customization, and deployment of LabWare LIMS v8 into a production environment. Your core focus will be translating operational workflows, quality controls, and regulatory standards into functional system configurations using two specialized LabWare builds: the Contract Lab Template (CLT) and the Enterprise Water Component Template (EWT). Key Responsibilities β€’ Template Customization & Deployment: Lead hands-on setup, configuration, and rollout of LabWare’s Contract Lab Template (CLT) and Enterprise Water Component Template (EWT) to match complex water and wastewater workflows. β€’ System & Workflow Configuration: Design and configure core LIMS modules, automated sample scheduling, control charting, and the Standard and Reagent Inventory Manager. β€’ Instrument Integration: Build automated data-capture pipelines between physical lab instruments and LabWare LIMS using LabWare LabStation or equivalent middleware. β€’ Reporting & Data Deliverables: Design and maintain analytical dashboards and complex custom reports via Crystal Reports. Build Electronic Data Deliverables (EDD) for client and regulatory data exchanges. β€’ Compliance & Quality Management: Configure stability testing, control charts, and quality features to align with strict environmental and water/wastewater regulatory standards. β€’ Testing & Issue Resolution: Execute unit testing, support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and resolve technical bugs through development, go-live, and post-implementation phases. β€’ Documentation & Technical Handover: Author detailed technical documentation and lead knowledge-transfer sessions for internal LIMS administrators and IT support staff to ensure long-term platform stability. Required Qualifications β€’ Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific/technical field. β€’ LabWare LIMS Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience configuring, customizing, and administering LabWare LIMS v8 across full lifecycle implementations (requirements gathering through post-go-live support). β€’ Template Expertise: Proven track record configuring and deploying the LabWare Contract Lab Template (CLT) and Enterprise Water Component Template (EWT). β€’ LIMS Basic: Advanced proficiency in writing, testing, and debugging LIMS Basic code for custom logic, data parsing, and complex calculations. β€’ Instrument Interfacing: Direct experience using LabStation (or similar middleware) to integrate laboratory instrumentation. β€’ Reporting Tools: Demonstrated mastery in developing complex analytical reports with Crystal Reports. β€’ Data Formatting: Hands-on experience building Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) export/import formats for external stakeholders and oversight agencies. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Official LabWare LIMS Administration or Configuration certifications. β€’ Direct domain expertise in water, wastewater, or environmental testing laboratories. β€’ Experience configuring Electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) modules inside LabWare. β€’ Practical knowledge of optimizing LabWare LIMS for mobile/tablet interfaces in a lab environment.
