Position: Lead Analytics Engineer
Location: Boston, MA
Hybrid Onsite: 2 days a week
Duration: 12 Months + Contract
Summary:
The Senior Analytics Engineer will bridge the gap between Data Engineering and Analytics to enable end users to make the most of our data.
The client does have a massive amount of incoming client data thatβs unorganized. Thereβs a 3-year strategic roadmap to clean and structure it.
The goal is to build out and mature their analytics environment, starting with new dbt models.
The Engineer will handle data from all areas of the company and modeling that data using data modeling techniques.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Economics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
10+ years of experience in an Analytics Engineering role
Strong proficiency in SQL
Strong proficiency with dbt
Expert modeling skills: Vault 2.0, 3NF, Dimensional Modeling, etc.
Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks)
Experience with git and CI/CD deployments
Experience with Python and Docker
Experience With Dbt-Elementary Or Great Expectations Is Preferred
Experience with dbt-Osmosis or Great Expectations is preferred
Ability to communicate and follow up with internal stakeholders in a timely manner and excellent attention to detail.
Experience with BI Tools (Looker or Preset) is a plus
Has partnered with data governance, business/data owners, and cross-functional teams
Has worked in multi-system, multi-domain data environments
Familiar with modernization efforts, cloud data platforms, and structured data processes
Candidate should be comfortable with:
SQL
DBT
Modern cloud platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks (interchangeable)
The key is how they model and govern data, not which data warehouse they use.
Third Normal Form (3NF)
Dimensional Modeling
Experience with Data Vault is a strong plus
