Lead Data Analyst

Lead Data Analyst MC Lean, VA (onsite) 12 Months contract We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Data Analyst / Specialist with strong expertise in SQL and Data Lineage. The ideal candidate should be capable of analyzing complex datasets, documenting data flows, and presenting findings effectively to clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and validation. • Design, document, and maintain data lineage to ensure transparency and compliance across data pipelines. • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Prepare and deliver client presentations, showcasing data insights, lineage mapping, and recommendations. • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across systems. • Partner with cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects) to support end-to-end data initiatives. Required Skills & Qualifications • Strong hands-on experience with SQL (query writing, optimization, troubleshooting). • Solid understanding of Data Lineage concepts, tools, and documentation best practices. • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with prior experience in client-facing roles. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and regulatory requirements is a plus. Nice to Have • Familiarity with data lineage tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or similar). • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Experience working in agile environments.
