Job Overview/Summary: We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Analyst / Lead Data Engineer with a strong background in data warehousing, reporting, and analytics, particularly within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have the ability to partner with business stakeholders, design data solutions, build scalable ETL pipelines, and provide actionable insights that drive growth and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Underwriting and business teams to design and deliver reporting solutions that support business growth and risk management.
Build, optimize, and maintain ETL pipelines and dashboards using Power BI and SQL.
Translate complex business needs into technical requirements and collaborate with IT for implementation.
Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity by validating results and documenting data lineage.
Promote best practices in data visualization, KPI development, and reporting standards.
Support data governance initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance data quality and usability.
Primary Skills:
Advanced SQL expertise (working with structured and unstructured data formats such as JSON, XML).
Strong background in Data Warehousing, integration, and reporting.
Hands-on experience with Power BI for dashboarding and visualization.
ETL development with MS SSIS and Visual Studio.
Familiarity with Azure Cloud and Data Lake technologies.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Experience with Databricks.
Knowledge of data governance practices and KPI development standards.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of financial and operational metrics.
Proven ability to lead end-to-end data projects in fast-paced environments.
