Role description
I'm working with a client who is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of their data infrastructure as they build out a brand-new Snowflake-based platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with a talented team of data professionals and contribute to a cutting-edge project for a major magazine client.
The business has secured significant investment and is preparing to launch a new data-driven platform that will transform their operations. They're now looking for someone to help shape the platform using Python, DBT, Terraform, and Snowflake, building scalable solutions that will enable their data strategy to grow.
Please apply if the below sounds exciting to you-but only if you have strong experience with Snowflake, Python, DBT, and Terraform.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and optimize scalable data pipelines on Snowflake
• Develop ETL processes using Python and DBT to automate data flows
• Set up and manage Snowflake environments in the cloud using Terraform
• Collaborate with the team to establish repeatable, sustainable patterns for data ingestion, transformation, and warehousing
• Lead technical initiatives to ensure robust, secure, and efficient data infrastructure
• Support the overall architecture of the platform, ensuring data quality, performance, and scalability
• Work alongside data leaders to establish best practices for cloud data engineering
Your Experience & Skills
• Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake, Python, DBT, and Terraform - please only apply if you have recent experience with these technologies
• Strong understanding of building and optimizing data pipelines at scale
• Experience working in a cloud-first environment (ideally AWS or Azure)
• Familiarity with data modeling, transformation, and cloud data architecture
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A quality-first mindset: you prioritize robust engineering and scalability over rushing deadlines
If you are ready to take on an exciting challenge and help build a transformative platform from the ground up, we would love to hear from you.
