Lead Data Engineer with Healthcare Domain

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (Lead) Location: Anaheim, CA – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) Duration: 6+ Months Contract-to-Hire Eligibility: Must be local to Anaheim, CA and willing to convert to Full-Time Job Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong leadership experience to join a healthcare client in Anaheim, CA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity requiring candidates who are local and able to work onsite 3 days per week. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of overall Data Engineering experience, including 3–5+ years in a Senior/Lead capacity, and will be comfortable working in a legacy data environment while helping drive modernization initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Lead and mentor data engineering initiatives and projects within the organization. • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions. • Work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions. • Manage and optimize SQL Server databases and ETL workflows using SSIS. • Support data infrastructure in on-premises environments while integrating with cloud platforms. • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. • Track tasks, issues, and progress using JIRA. • Ensure data quality, performance optimization, and reliability of data pipelines. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize and improve legacy systems Required Qualifications • 10+ years of experience as a Data Engineer. • 3–5+ years of experience in a Senior or Lead Data Engineer role, leading projects or teams. • Prior Healthcare industry experience is required. • Strong experience with: • SQL Server • SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) • On-Premise data environments • Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure • Agile methodology • JIRA • Experience working with and maintaining legacy data environments. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Additional Requirements • Must be local to Anaheim, CA and able to work onsite 3 days per week. • Must be willing and able to convert to a full-time employee after the contract period.
