6-Month Contract | Outside IR35 | £750–£1000 per day
Hybrid – 2 days onsite (London, Leeds, or Edinburgh)
We are seeking a senior, highly credible Data Governance SME to lead the assessment and strengthening of enterprise data frameworks within a complex, highly regulated environment.
This role is suited to an experienced consultant who has operated at lead or principal level, is comfortable shaping direction, and can engage confidently with senior stakeholders across data, risk, and technology. The focus is on practical delivery, assurance, and regulatory robustness, not theory.
The Role
You will take ownership of the data governance and data quality framework agenda, providing authoritative input and hands-on delivery. Responsibilities include:
• Leading reviews of enterprise data governance frameworks and operating models
• Designing and embedding data quality standards, controls, and accountability models
• Acting as a trusted SME to senior stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and challenge
• Supporting regulatory-facing activity, including evidence, documentation, and assurance
• Driving consistent adoption of data standards across the organisation
Experience Required
• Extensive experience in data governance, data management, or data controls
• Strong background in financial services or similarly regulated environments
• Proven experience working with regulators or large public sector bodies
• Operated previously at lead consultant, principal, or equivalent senior level
• Able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on delivery
Contract Details
• 6 months, Outside IR35
• £750–£1000 per day (dependent on experience)
• Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite (London, Leeds, or Edinburgh)
