Role description
Job Title: Data Scientist Lead Duration: 3+ Months (W2 contract) Location: New York, NY Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist Lead to drive end-to-end data science initiatives, delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in a fast-paced Agile environment. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, and business acumen, with a focus on rapid model development, iteration, and deployment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in propensity modeling, predictive analytics, and data engineering collaboration, along with exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) to accelerate data science workflows. Experience in the HR/People Analytics domain is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage data science projects with rapid iterations in an Agile environment • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models, including propensity and predictive models • Collaborate with data engineering teams to build and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes • Leverage Generative AI / Data Assist tools to accelerate model development and insights generation • Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and actionable insights • Mentor and guide junior data scientists and ensure best practices in model development • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and refine models for improved performance • Work closely with stakeholders, particularly within HR/People Analytics, to solve business challenges Required Skills: • Proven experience leading data science projects in Agile environments • Strong hands-on experience in machine learning, predictive modeling, and propensity modeling • Experience with Python, R, and SQL • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL, data pipelines, feature engineering) • Experience with Generative AI (GenAI), LLMs, or AI accelerators (e.g., Data Assist) • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
