Role description
Lead Data Scientist | Python | Forecasting | Advanced Analytics | Bristol Hybrid | £65,000 - £75,000 + 10% Bonus + Benefits Peaple Talent have partnered with an enterprise organisation to hire a Lead Data Scientist to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week onsite in Bristol. The role sits in a highly visible Data & Insight team, working directly with senior stakeholders and exec-level teams to deliver forecasting, analytics and insight that supports key business decisions across commercial, sales, marketing and operations. The big focus here is Python-based data science, forecasting and strong statistical fundamentals. They need someone who is confident getting hands-on technically, but also able to turn analysis into clear, reliable insight for senior non-technical audiences. You’ll also be managing two Data Analysts, helping guide their work and support their development. A strong management background isn’t the deciding factor here, but you’ll need to be comfortable providing direction, reviewing outputs and helping the team deliver high-quality insight. You’ll be involved in: • Building forecasting models and advanced analytics using Python • Working with senior stakeholders up to C-Suite level to shape data-led decisions • Managing and supporting two Data Analysts within the wider Data & Insight team • Improving the reliability and quality of insight across the business • Supporting commercial, sales, marketing and operational teams with analytics • Working closely with Data Engineering and BI teams to bring models and insight into the business Databricks would be a strong bonus, as this is part of their current stack, but experience with similar cloud data platforms such as Snowflake would also be relevant. Tableau or Power BI experience would be useful too, although visualisation is not the main focus. They’re also starting to explore more modern AI and LLM-led reporting capability through Databricks Genie, so any experience around LLMs, agentic AI or AI-assisted insight would be a nice extra rather than a must-have. Salary up to £75,000 plus benefits, 2 days per week onsite in Central Bristol. Apply or get in touch for more information.
