Role description
Sr. Lead Data Scientist Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite Each Week Location: Miami, Florida Compensation: $67/Hour W2 Our client is seeking a business-focused Data Scientist who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to drive meaningful impact across the organization. This role centers on building predictive models, developing machine learning solutions, and partnering closely with business stakeholders to solve real-world problems and create automated, scalable processes. Key Responsibilities β€’ Develop and deploy predictive models, including forecasting, optimization, and advanced analytics to support business decision-making. β€’ Design, build, and validate machine learning algorithms, including feature engineering, model selection, and performance tuning. β€’ Collaborate with business partners to understand challenges, translate requirements into analytical solutions, and deliver insights that support strategic decisions. β€’ Create automated analytical processes and workflows that enhance operational efficiency across the organization. β€’ Conduct data exploration and analysis using SQL, ensuring strong understanding of relational databases, data merging, and data quality. β€’ Work within an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams. β€’ Utilize platforms such as Databricks to build and deploy new models in a modern data ecosystem. β€’ Communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner. Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline). β€’ Hands-on experience with Python and/or R for modeling, analytics, and machine learning. β€’ Strong experience working with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with clients who already have cloud infrastructure in place. β€’ Proficiency in SQL for querying, data exploration, and working with relational databases. β€’ Demonstrated ability to solve business problems using a combination of data science expertise, coding skills, and statistical/mathematical knowledge. β€’ Strong business acumen with the ability to see how a problem fits into larger organizational objectives. β€’ Excellent communication skills and comfort interfacing directly with business teams. β€’ Experience with Databricks (highly preferred). Preferred Qualifications β€’ Professional certifications related to data science, cloud technologies, or machine learning. β€’ Experience in both enterprise and startup environments. Not Looking For β€’ This is not a Data Engineering role. β€’ This role does not involve NLP as a primary function.
